Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American sportscaster. She anchors SportsNation and serves as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been so since her age of nine. This skill allowed her to land her first position at Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. After 2009, the news reporter moved to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move into Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she would fill in occasionally as a weather and sport anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasstation, which is where she is more responsible. She was a reporter for the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor herself. Then, she became the sports host for the morning program on Despierta America Deportes. As a sports anchor she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports channel). Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. The family moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. There is an older sister. The family settled in Miami after moving to Mexico into the US. The couple divorced shortly thereafter and, in the year 1995, she got married to an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. The holiday in the summer that she lived with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten an employment. Antonietta was a senior in high school having a clear idea of where she thought her future would be like, visited Mount Union University to determine whether the university was suitable for her. It turned out that she was a fan of the university and they were offering the degree she was searching for. She finished school and enrolled at the university with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of the WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked for a number of years, was an acquaintance. His passion for journalism and her self-confidence encouraged her. In turn, she was determined to achieve his standards and not disappoint him.
